Hey guys. I have a really cute tribal print design to share today. I did this is a Twin Mani with another lady on instagram. Her IG name is @cutieenailssart. We found a picture of a print we both liked and recreated it. I love the colors used in this design, they go really well together. Its been so long now I dont really remember the names of all the polishes used but you can choose any that you like for this. I believe the green was Orly "Ancient Jade" & the purple was Misa "Throw Me Something Purple Please" and then a standard white, something by Sally Hansen and a grey color from Julep. sorry I dont know all of the names!!! I did the grey as a base color, taped off sections for the white and free handed the rest with a fien tip paint brush. This was a really fun collab I did with her & I hope yall enjoy the pics to follow.
Hey guys, today I have a different post for you than my normal ones. I was asked to check out this website called 10dollarmall.com Everything in this store is $9.99 or less and there are some super cute products to check out. I've always been a big fan of shoes but can never justify spending a whole lot of money on them, with this site I dont have to. Everything is under $10 and their are so many things to look through you are bound to find something that you would love to buy. I know I have my eye on a few different products & I havent even looked at everything yet!! I cant wait to get back to this shop & look around & probably make a Christmas list haha I hope yall check it out too, you never know what you may find either for you or for a friend or family member as a present. I hope yall enjoy this quick info post & have a great day.
Below I will be posting a few screen shots of some of the products you can find there.
Hey guys, today I have swatches of these two colors below from Wet n Wild & I tried out their Matte topcoat & also have a comparison of it to my OPI Matte topcoat. There are a lot of pictures coming your way & I hope yall enjoy this post !!
The first color Im going to start with is this gorgeous light blue. This is two coats of "Putting On Airs" plus topcoat. This color covers very well with no streaks left behind. Im a big fan of blue, especially light blue, so this color to me is gorgeous. I dont think I have anything like this in my collection & if I do, the more the merrier right !? Ill look for a color I can compare it to & post that another day. This polish was very inexpensive & thats just another reason for me to love it.
The next color I have for you guys is this white. I needed a refill and I've used this white before & have loved it & I know it works well so why wouldnt I use it again!! This is two coats of French White Creme plus topcoat. It covers really well, just like the last color. The formula is really nice. I love that its not runny or too thick & hard to apply. And again this is an inexpensive brand so its nice since I have to always refill my white haha
And last for this brand for today is their Matte topcoat. I have had 2 already from different brands & I didnt like the way they worked so I wanted to try Wet n Wild & thankfully its only $1 so it didnt hurt to purchase it knowing it could have been terrible, BUT I love this topcoat & ill explain why. I also compared it to my OPI Matte topcoat & Ill talk about that a little later on.
As you can see above I have a few different scenarios. I used dark colors because its easier to see how well the topcoat will work on them, & just chose two different colors from two different brands to see if that made any difference. Also I added Seche Vite topcoat to two nails to see how it would react with & with out it. As you can see above the two nails with out topcoat look so smooth & its a very nice matte finish, I didnt have any problems with it over just the polish, which Ive had in the past. My other mattes needed Seche Vite first to look nice. On my index finger you can see the black with topcoat isnt as smooth, & there was some slight pulling from the edges but the pinky with topcoat looks really nice so maybe it was the brand of polish. The black is Broadway nails & the blue is China Glaze. Keep scrolling for my comparison to OPI Matte topcoat.
Next is my OPI Matte topcoat. I want to start off by saying the reason I didnt like this in the first place. When ever I would layer this over polish or a design I had trouble with bad pulling from the sides & it looking really streaky & kind of dirty some how, so thats why I wanted to do a comparison.
Above you can see I did the same with my OPI as my Wet n Wild because its a comparison. You'll notice on my middle finger with out topcoat that there is very little pulling around the cuticle area, which can be looked over, but it also looks a little streaky to me but there could other reasons for that other than the quality of the topcoat. The ring finger looks really nice & just as smooth as the Wet n Wild. Its hard to see in the pictures but on my index finger with topcoat there was really bad pulling from the cuticles. In the past the topcoat would help with that but now it doesnt & Im not sure what changed lol. I dont think the pinky was too bad about pulling, maybe just a little.
In conclusion, both of these polishes work very well as matte topcoats, on their own with no help from Sech Vite or any other shiny topcoat under neath. The Wet n Wild of course will be cheaper & thats always something to consider when purchasing polish. Thats why I wanted to bring you this comparison today, that way you would know the cheaper alternative works just as well as the more expensive brand & thats all that matters. I hope yall enjoyed this post today & have a great start to your work week!!
